Hailing from the cultural global epicentre of Bendigo Victoria , Wes grew up with a pen and pencil in hand recreating all his childhood interests from the ubiquitous boyhood fascination with dinosaurs to the powerhouse social juggernaut of Teenage mutant ninja turtles. In his teenage years he studied the fundamentals of art at TAFE and later moved on to more cerebral art studies by completing a bachelor of visual arts at Latrobe University.
During this time he also started doing Album covers for Grindcore bands both Australian and international. After finishing uni and falling back into the labour industry for a couple of years he quickly realised that life was too short for a real job and landed himself a tattoo apprenticeship and never looked back .
Preferring to tattoo in the Neotraditional style but also enjoying to be versatile in other styles such as black and grey . When an opportunity arose to work at Progression Wes jumped at the chance to be able to work at one of the most prominent shops in Australia in order to try to push himself further. Outside of tattooing Wes has been studying Shibari for the last 5 years at the Melbourne rope dojo . His artworks outside of this are reminiscent of this pursuit . Wes has now been tattooing for over 10 years and tattoos one week every month at Progression.
